John Berry is the Founder and Managing Editor of Good News Brief, where he oversees the publication’s editorial operations across the website, social media channels, and podcast.

Before starting Good News Brief, John ran a media company and spent nearly a decade building and managing a newsroom focused on thoughtful storytelling and digital publishing. His work centers on identifying credible stories of progress across science, nature, culture, and global society.

John is also an award-winning documentary filmmaker whose work has explored social and cultural issues through long-form storytelling. His writing and media work have been featured in outlets including LA Weekly, Benzinga, and Business Insider, and his content has been viewed by more than 15 million people.

Originally from Canada and now based in the United States, he brings an international perspective to the stories he covers while helping shape the editorial direction of Good News Brief…and a little bit of maple syrup 🍁.
